Position Summary
Multiple clients are searching for full-time Cytotechnologists to evaluate GYN and NON-GYN specimens, both independently and under the direction of the pathologists, in order to diagnose patient disease processes and cytologic phenomena. Perform moderate and high complexity testing. Analyze, review, and report test results and quality control results and takes remedial action when indicated; ensure specimen integrity by adhering to the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing; adhere to departmental policies and procedures to include departmental programs, quality control, quality assurance, and safety.
Full-time, Monday-Friday, 40 hour work week.
Cytotechnologist Responsibilities
Screening and interpretation of cytologic specimens for adequacy, and diagnosis.
Performs cytological preparation procedures when required.
Utilizes microscope to screen slides for evidence of abnormalities and other processes.
Refers to established classifications and classifies each slide according to cells observed and provides a preliminary diagnosis of all slides examined.
Assists supervisor with SOP's and regulatory requirements.
Cytotechnologist Qualifications
ASCP Certification Required
Current Specific State License as required
Preferably at least three years of screening/cytotechnologist experience
BSCT, BSMT or MLT
Thinprep Certification, Required
Surepath Certification, Preferred
